Avoiding & Surviving the Flu
A recent study highlighted that Influenza rates almost always correlate seasonally to a drop in Vitamin D levels. We eat more sugar and spend more time indoors and consequently our immune systems take a big hit!
Two vitamins have been shown to have a major impact fighting viral illnesses like the flu! C and D
Here is what our family does to prevent and subsequently treat (should anyone fall ill after ingesting too many Christmas cookies):
Elderberry syrup: (our recipe HERE includes Ningxia wolfberries for added support) excellent source of quality whole food C we use daily as a preventative and up to 6 doses a day when sick
Vitamin D hammer: (link to study HERE) this is a new addition to our arsenal thanks to our friend Julie for telling us about the study regarding one time dose of D that can help knock it out in 48 to 72 hours. The new and improved version of this “hammer” recommends taking 50,000 IU of Vitamin D on Day 1, followed by 10,000 IU doses taken 3 x a day for 3 days
Ningxia Red: amazing antioxidant super food drink with high levels of C and B vitamins, all in whole food forms. The Ningxia wolfberry being at the top of the ORAC scale makes it ideal as a daily vitmain/supplement, but we take additional doses when sick
The FLU BOMB oil roller! (see the recipe above) We roll this under our chin (submandibular lymph nodes), along the sides of our neck, down the spine, and feet. Powerful oils that have been tried and true in our home when used alone, but especially in conjunction with these other aids
Colloidal Silver: another of nature's antiviral power houses. We take this only when we are sick. You can purchase at your local health food store , Amazon, or get your own generator to make big jars like this🙌
Vitamin C: its best absorbed in whole food forms, but adding a variety of sources can really pack a punch. We take Young Living's Super C w/ multiple sources of C and keep Liposomal C on hand. Multiple 3000 to 6000mg each doses is what has worked well for us.
Epsom salt soaks (and other forms of Mag) as Magnesium deficiency is a major player in compromised immune function
Be prepared, be consistent, and if you need help getting these goodies in your hands, I can help!
