Back to School
Back to school....
Parker had asked me if I would kill him if he went back to school. Afterall, he had completed a Master's in Wildlife Biology a few years ago and it had been a decent journey to that point. He had a great job with a great company, however, when he looked ahead he felt that as a wildlife biologist he could not provide for our family in the way he had hoped. When we first were dating, he told me he wanted to be a Chiropractor. Somewhere along the way an organic chemistry class had discouraged him from a career in healthcare, but here we were 14 years later and the passion for Chiropractic was stronger than ever and I was fully supportive of his decision to apply for the D.C. (doctorate of chiropractics) program at Life University. I was about 5 months pregnant with our 2nd son while we were discussing these possible plans, we had lived in our home in Jefferson for 10 years and had just decorated a 2nd nursery to perfection, but for some reason I was excited. Chiropractic care has had such a huge impact on the health and wellness of our family, one of our Chiropractors was extremely influential in our ability to finally conceive and carry two healthy babies. I was thrilled with the idea that Parker would be able to impact lives in that way. He is a strong and caring individual with a passion for wellness and I could think of no other career that would suit him and our family so well. So, I was ecstatic when the acceptance letter came and when he passed that dreaded Chemistry course obstacle leading into the start of a new "Life" in October.
