Double the Blessings
Double the blessings!
a highlight of 2013 was a joint blessing weekend for Knox and his cousin Bryce. In the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, our version of a baby dedication or "christening" type activity is known as the baby blessing. In front of the congregation, the father or other member of the family or ward leadership gives the baby a blessing and official name that the baby should be known on the church records. It is a sweet, sacred and tender tradition and the first of important days we are dressed in white. My sister-in-law Summer gave birth to her 4th son, Brycen Walker Rodrigue, just 6 weeks after Knox's birth. So, we decided to bless our babies in church on the same Sunday when they were in town visiting for Labor Day weekend. Parker's sisters are two of my best friends and when the three of us get to be together, we are happiest! It was also the last full weekend we spent in our Jefferson home. So, to have so many of our family members gathered there for one last blast was special.
